Soon :)

1904 Opera House/Main Street Tavern Cupola Restoration ProjectA small committee of volunteers, with an interest in Broken Arrow’s
early history years, has been formed to seek funds and install a significant restoration
of the beautiful cupola on top the original 1904 two-story brick building. That
building was originally the site of The First State Bank
and the pre-statehood historic Broken Arrow Opera House.
The original cupola on the building was removed in the 1960s when Jack Ross, then
owner of the building and operator of the Ross Drug Store on the ground floor, was remodeling the building. A multi-year “search” for the remains of the original cupola
was conducted. Apparently, the cupola was destroyed in that remodeling project.
There has been discussion through the years about restoring the Cupola in order
to regain the beauty of the classic structure, but none of the more recent owners
    attempted that effort.
This project will replicate the original architectural capping component for that building.A small committee of four individuals has been active for two years in discussing
the project, methods for raising funds for the construction project, and entering into a “design-build” construction contract with a Broken Arrow construction company with interest in historical preservation for downtown Broken Arrow.
Clarence has spent much of his life preserving the stories of this town. For over 50 years, he’s dreamed of seeing the cupola restored to its rightful place atop the historic 1904 Broken Arrow Opera House, now affectionately known as the Main Street Tavern Broken Arrow.
And now — that dream is becoming a reality.
We’ve been privately raising funds, one heartfelt conversation and donation at a time, to bring this vision to life. The press release just went out, and we’re thrilled (and a little emotional) to finally share it.
This is more than a restoration — it’s a tribute to a man who never stopped believing in the power of history, community, and the beauty of what once was.
